SWTOR – Sith Inquisitor quest for their first companion

What better time than in the days leading up to the Early Access to go through all the videos I made during the beta weekends I played?  This video is from the Sith Inquisitor perspective and is of the quest line to obtain Khem Val, the first Sith Inquisitor companion character.  The quest starts off with yet another visit to Overseer Harkun who informs you that your final challenge won’t be a fair test.  Except it’s Overseer Harkun who ends up getting the short end of the stick and not you.

Around the two minute mark you activate the doorway leading to Khem Val but I’ve cut out the mobs you have to fight through to get to that doorway.  There are several groups and I found the best way of dealing with them is to kite them back to the walk way ledge and use Overload to knock them off.

I found the Khem Val fight challenging and quickly realize my strategy to kite and snipe wasn’t going to work.  Overload doesn’t apply its knock back on Khem Val, nor does Force Lightning apply its slow affect.  So Khem Val pretty much stays right on you the entire fight.  When I do this fight again I’ll know to go strait for the throat and not monkey around with any real strategy.

[update] I finally got around to leveling a Sith Inquisitor in release.  I captured the entire instance up to Khem Val in a new video, and show the different approach in fighting I mentioned above.  It’s much easier to just stand there and fight Khem Val than attempt to kite.
