So I decided to pick up Enchanting on my main again yesterday. I had dropped it a few months ago after having been an Enchanter/Jewelcrafter for several years. Although I wasn’t displeased with my decision to drop Enchanting — afterall, I did make plenty of gold with my alternate profession of Mining. But nothing like what I could achieve as an Enchanter. 1900 Gold in one hour (actually 1887 Gold)! I’m sure there are plenty of alternatives that achieve higher returns on time, but it was so little real effort on my part that its well worth it in my opinion. How? By doing nothing more than running 6 WotLK Heroics.
6 Heroic Instances in one hour ~ 40-50G vendoring grays/instance
6 Vendor Epic items ~ 17-20G/item
30 Vendor Blue items ~ 5-17G/item
6 Stacks of Infinite Dust ~ 146G/stack
6 stacks Frostweave Cloth ~ 50G/stack
I could have run all of the WotLK instances but had an hour to kill before dinner and just blew through some to kill the time. I think most classes would have little trouble blowing through them as I did, although if you have a tank spec its beyond easy. Vendor all the gray/white items, vendor all the blues and epics, and DE all of the greens. Voila.
